Bringing Helliott to Rotface (or anywhere beyond, say, Gunship) doesn't look selfish to me, it looks suicidally stupid. If that's what y'all thought I wanted, then you were right to berate me for being stupid.

What? It was not clear. Deadsong did not get that. How on earth was it clear when you did not state that you wanted to switch out after gunship? You stated that helliott was tuesday and pim was thursday. It was not clear.

I did not state it, I did not make myself clear. It was obvious to me but not obvious to anyone else. I was thoughtless, and I apologize.

Thank you all for helping me figure this out, it really threw me for a loop! Of course I'm still surprised anyone thought that I would think that. But, I frequently forget that we live in an online community and we communicate by typing, and emotions don't translate well, and although we think we know each other, there is still much that goes on behind the keyboard.

My version of "asking the raid" was when I signed up on the calendar. And my version of "can I bring Helliott, but only up to Gunship or maybe just Marrowgar?" was signing up for Tuesday, because, Tuesday is when we do the first few easy bosses. It seemed obvious to me, but it wasn't, and that was thoughtless on my part.

Your replies didn't make any sense to me at the time, and I counter-replied thinking I was being told no because of gear, or alt status. Apparently my arguments didn't make any sense to you guys either.

So in conclusion, phew! Problem solved.

The quote in which I said "Well screw you," was obviously using the generalized "you," and not directed at any one person, and, it was followed in short order by "Seriously though," as well as multiple references to heroic violet hold, showing the humor in it.

See, there again is my subtle sense of humor at work, saying "was obviously using the generalized you" after writing a whole post about how things that are obvious to me are obviously not obvious to anyone else. Clearly.

Just for clarity so you don't think i've changed my argument, gear is part of the issue. I'm pretty sure i stated this in my first response. I don't think helliott is geared to heal saurfang and higher even with the 10% buff. The actual gear people wear does go into consideration when i'm worried about the raid composition. So when i balked at the idea on tuesday, gear was part of it; I couldn't see helliott being fair to the other members of the raid on a dreamwalker encounter, etc... So when i think that someone is coming for the entire Tuesday run, gear goes into the composition.

With that said, i haven't seen helliott heal in a high pressure situation so who knows? But festergut isn't the place to find out.

Pim, i urge you to speak on vent more. Its alot easier for me to "read between the lines" when there is a human voice involved. If you get knocked across the room on Blood Council, it would help if you said something, so people could adjust.

I've stated before that when the raid is getting started, i'm usually dealing with multiple conversations and things going on, so please view my capacity for subtlety at that time to be zero.
